Spooky Tours and Halloween Treasure Hunt Tours at the GSPCA October Half Term
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

The week of Half Term the GSPCA are running Spooky Tours and Halloween Treasure Hunts at the GSPCA. Last year we had young vampires, cats, zombies and monsters for the scary events at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews. The groups on arrival will have lots of spooky things to do and see from Webster our tarantula to the many lizards in our care, black cats and many others some with scary names. Tours take about 45 minutes and once the treasure hunt quiz is complete all will get prizes for their great fancy dress and doing well in the quiz. The children will then hunt for spooky numbered cards in a very Halloween themed room. With ghouls and ghosts, smoke and bubbles, disco lights and spiders, wiggly worms and tunnels the children have to find hidden Halloween cards to win prizes. Last year all had a fantastic time and the parents and the children all left with a pumpkin bag full of gifts and saying - "This is fantastic, thank you so much." "I would have loved this when I was a child." "What a great afternoon, thank you." "They loved it, thank you." Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and Grim Reaper Tour Guide said "We had a lovely spooky last Halloween and it was great to see the effort the children made with their fancy dress." "Once again this year we will decorate our events room with a Halloween theme and the children and the parents will be shown around the Shelter, playing a quiz and searching for the Halloween cards for prizes." "It is £20 per child or £17.50 with an Island Mums card and spaces are limited so please book early.” "All the funds raised will help the bats, cats, owls and many other animals at the GSPCA, as well as help towards our new Wildlife Hospital." "Please do call 257261 to book your childs place or via our paypal link and indicate your ideal day." To see updates for this event please visit - https://www.facebook.com/Sidneysfundraising/ Corinne and her volunteers each year hold amazing evenings in aid of local charities and from all at the GSPCA thank you. Jill Daniels, started her singing career in the late 1970s even in those far off days her similarity to Vera Lynn was well recognised and earned her the title "The Sweetheart of the Midlands" . At that time Jill was selected to work in many of the top Cabaret Nightclub Restaurants such as the Talk of the Midlands (Nottingham), Talk of the North (Eccles) Heart of the Midlands(Birmingham) Embassy Club (London) as Support to Numerous Star acts and bands. Although at that time Jill was renown for her excellent renditions of Vera Lynn favourites. She did not actually specialise until she was asked to put on a special Show for the VE DAY 50th Anniversary Celebrations and a whole new show was produced at considerable expense, the music being especially created from scratch for all of the Wartime Favourites in Jill'singing key, (which happens to be the same as Dame Vera's) to recreate as near as possible the original versions, The VE DAY Shows were a total success and bookings started flowing in for the Wartime Show which is known as "HITS OF THE BLITZ". The same success was repeated for the MILLENNIUM Celebrations and for The Queens Jubilee Celebrations and Jill Daniels is now known Nationally and Internationally as Britain's No1 singer of WWII Songs and Patriotic Anthems. http://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/sidney%E2%80%99s-sponsored-events-presents-back-40%E2%80%99s-uk-act-jill-daniels-saturday-10th-november-2018
