Le Viaër Marchi Monday 2nd July at Saumarez Park - please pop by and say hi and support our GSPCA stall
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

The Lé Viaër Marchi is one of Guernsey’s great annual get-togethers, celebrating the best of Island traditions, on Monday 2nd July 2018, at Saumarez Park from 5pm until sunset. The Folk and Costume Museum also hosts a special event on the evening of Lé Viaër Marchi, with costumed-actors bringing exhibitions to life and demonstrating old Guernsey traditions. The popularity of the original ‘Guernsey Evening’ on the courtyard back in 1970, fuelled the growth of Lé Viaër Marchi into the much-anticipated event that it is today. Lé Viaër Marchi remains ‘A Guernsey Evening’ and an annual event attracting crowds of about 5,000 Islanders and visitors. Once again the GSPCA will join this fantastic event with our stall raising funds for the many animals at the GSPCA and the work we carry out 24/7. Here are the event details - Date: Monday 2nd July, 2018 Venue: Saumarez Park and The Folk and Costume Museum at Saumarez Park Time: 5:00pm – sunset Cost: Adult entrance to Lé Viaër Marchi £6 – children under the age of 15, accompanied by an adult, FREE No entrance charge at The Folk and Costume Museum To visit their webpage please check out - http://www.nationaltrust.gg/events/le-viaer-marchi-2018/ If you can help on our GSPCA stall please give Michelle a call on 257261 or email fundraising@gspca.org.gg http://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/le-via%C3%ABr-marchi-monday-2nd-july-saumarez-park-please-pop-and-say-hi-and-support-our-gspca-stall

Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

Guernsey Gaming for Good are asking you to join them for three 2 VS 2 Gaming Tournaments, including: Gang Beasts (1pm) Rocket League (4pm) Halo 2 (8pm) (All rules can be found in the "posts" section) Taking place at the Digital Greenhouse it is free entry to venue, £8 entry per team (or £4 per person) per tournament game. Prizes for the winners! Let them know if you're coming down via their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/243162299751846/ For parents out there looking for an activity on the day with younger children, there will be an age friendly event (with age appropriate games) up until about 6pm. They aim to take a break shortly after, returning for 7pm where the venue will become an 18+ event, due to presence of maturer game titles. The main Screen and room floor will be streamed live, so send a link to your friends for them to watch and see how you get on. Better yet, entry to the venue will be free and there will be plenty of other games occuring on the side (off stream), so please come down and show your support! As with all of their events, all proceeds made on the day go towards charity and this year the have kindly chosen ourselves at the GSPCA to help raise funds and promote our recently launched Wildlife Hospital Build. There will be an opportunity to get a much closer look at DLM Architect’s design this weekend using a virtual reality headset, along with some printed visuals. Come on down and have a peek - entry to the venue will be free, but all donations towards this fantastic project will be more than welcome. Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are hugely grateful to Guernsey Gaming for Good for organising this wonderful event in aid of the GSPCA and to promote our appeal and new Wildlife Hospital we are trying to achieve with the help of DLM Architect’s.” “Not only are you able to get involved with this fantastic event they are putting on a virtual reality headset so you can see inside of the Wildlife Hospital that we are trying to build to replace a number of very old structures and give a fantastic facility to care for the 1000’s of wild animals and birds that come through our doors every year.” “Please do support the Guernsey Gaming Fest' 2018 and thank you to all involved on putting on this wonderful event.” To learn more and become an Exclusive Build Partner and support our Wildlife Hospital please visit http://www.gspca.org.gg/page/gspca-exclusive-build-partner If you would like to help at one of our upcoming events or book a table at our Ball please give Michelle a call on 257261 or email fundraising@gspca.org.gg For more information on volunteering at the GSPCA and how to get involved please visit http://gspca.org.gg/about/volunteers or call 257261 If your business or group would like to spend a day at the Shelter you can find out more by going to http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/corporate-and-group-days To see the opening hours at the GSPCA please visit – http://www.gspca.org.gg/page/gspca-opening-visiting-times To see our upcoming guided tours please visit - http://www.gspca.org.gg/services/guided-tours-gspca To donate to the animals in our care please visit - www.paypal.me/DonateGSPCA To become an Angel Pen Pal Sponsor to sponsor the hoglets and support our work please visit - http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/angel-sponsorship-scheme-animals-needing-guernseys-everlasting-love To see our Wish List on our website please visit - http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/our-plans-wish-list For other fund raising ideas and ways to support please visit - http://www.gspca.org.gg/fundraising To visit the details on the Urgent Kennel Floor Appeal please visit - www.gspca.org.gg/blog/urgent-kennel-floor-appeal-%E2%80%93-kennel-flooring-work-discovers-need-new-drains-and-completely-ripp To find out how your business could help us at the GSPCA http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/how-your-business-can-help-gspca-corporate-sponsorship http://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/guernsey-gaming-fest-2018-tag-team-tournament-saturday-11th-august-aid-gspca-new-wildlife-hospi

West is Best - Pop by the GSPCA stall at the West Show
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

For the seventh year in a row the GSPCA are attending the West Show which will be held on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th August 2017. If you would like to help volunteer of support us we would love to see you on our stall. If you can help please call 257261 or email fundraising@gspca.org.gg Once again our stall will be full of great games & GSPCA goods. Every year we have a great time enjoying a wonderful local event whilst raising funds on our stall to help the many animals in our care. More about the West Show - The West show is arguably Guernsey’s premier agricultural and horticultural show. Held annually since 1913 the West show is a traditional country show with many modern aspects, and this year being the centenary it promises to be bigger and better than ever. The show this year has the main two days as usual on the Wednesday and Thursday with the usual tented competitions and animal competitions together with the arena entertainment and side displays. The horse competitions all take place on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday prior to the show, with the exception of the harness showing classes and the carriage driving and scurry classes which take place on the Thursday of the show. Held since 1985 on a site of approximately 35 acres at the former L’Eree aerodrome, the West show is the highlight of the summer for many from the western parishes who look forward to meeting up with friends they haven’t seen since the previous year and also of course people from all over the island and visitors alike. Crowds of 8,000 over the two main days are not unusual. To visit the West Show facebook page please click here https://www.facebook.com/WestShowGuernsey .
