Christmas Lottery - Charity Grant Applications

Local charities are reminded that they can now apply for a grant from the record breaking Christmas Lottery. The first prize jackpot climbed to £1,220,600 – the highest in the history of the Channel Islands Lottery.

The proceeds from tickets sold in Guernsey will be given to the Association of Guernsey Charities to distribute, and charities are reminded that applications for a share of the funds need to be returned by the end of January.

Charities can apply by downloading an application form (see below). Completed applications need to be sent with the charities latest accounts, and any supporting information.

The Association of Guernsey Charities is keen to point out that the application form is easy to complete as we don’t want to put off any charities from applying. Every application is read and discussed by the AGC Council who carefully scrutinise all applications as we need to ensure that the lottery funds are distributed to organisations that really need help.

The 9 members of the AGC Council each read every application, before meeting together to discuss, and draw up a shortlist for the grants, which will be announced at the AGM in April.
