The Guernsey Arts Commission are proud to announce that Arts Sunday this year will be going ahead on the revised date of 9th August, that’s this Sunday between 10am and 4pm. The last few months have been a strange time for the whole Island, but what has emerged from this has been the importance of creativity to bring the community together and spread positivity. Due to this, they have decided to continue on from the last few months and are happy to announce the theme will be Guernsey Together – A celebration of community and kindness within the Arts. We will once again have our GSPCA stall there raising much needed funds for the many animals in our care so please join us for a day celebrating the community and arts, with performances throughout the day, an arts market and activities to get involved in! This Sunday there will be a FREE family friendly event (with donation to charity) to showcase what an array of fantastic talent and produce we have in Guernsey. See the GSPCA at the Guernsey Together Celebration this Saturday at Saumarez Park

The Guernsey Together Celebration this Saturday at Saumarez Park Is hosted by Guernsey North Show & Battle of Flowers, The Leo Club of Guernsey and Lions Club of Guernsey and will see a huge range of stalls and things to do. This is a new community with the aim of celebrating and thanking the amazing Guernsey community for getting us to Phase 5 so soon! The organisors have been so inspired by the community spirit, and kindness that people have shown to one another. This is a FREE event to enter, with just £5 per car for parking. A full day plus an evening of entertainment, food, games and stalls, with more details being released on this event and on their page https://www.facebook.com/events/2597013123873108/ So far, they have confirmed our headlining act, City Limits, supported by Buffalo Huddleston, Element 6 and more…. They will also have an entertainment arena with a wide variety of entertainment, appealing to all ages! They have a great charity and stallholder village, supporting those charities and small businesses impacted by lockdown and where we will be with our GSPCA tombolas raising much needed funds. The Lions and Leo Clubs are local branches of Lions International, and 100% of their charitable funds are spent within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The North Show is an extremely popular annual event held in Saumarez Park each summer, known famously for its Battle of Flowers. Due to lockdown, the 2020 show has been cancelled, and instead the organisers have partnered with the Lions and Leos to create this new event. See our stall and vehicles at this weekends Guernsey Motor Festival Motorsport Seafront Sunday. The Seafront of St Peter Port this Sunday will be closed from the Town Church to the Weighbridge roundabout, and expect to see a wide array of motorsport, specialist and road going vehicles. There will be displays from a wide range of local clubs to include the following:- Classic Car Club Guernsey Military Vehicle Group Sarnia Car Club RS Owners Club Triumph Club 66 Club Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service Guernsey Police Guernsey Ambulance & Rescue Service Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club Guernsey Kart & Motor Club Guernsey Autocross Club Supercars Display Guernsey Trials Guernsey Radio Control Car Club There is so much going on and the GSPCA will once again be joining the Guernsey Motor Festival for this fantastic day. At the GSPCA stall which will be opposite Mora we will have our tombolas and games to raise funds, goods on sale, information boards and a range of GSPCA vehicles including our new ambulance which is all thanks to Bluchip and Guy Hardill for his incredible sponsored swim to mention just a few that have helped towards this much needed Animal Ambulance. We will also have a Mercedes Benz A45 AMG (W176 with Aero Pack), 2015 next to us which is owned by one of our supporters. The Guernsey Motor Festival are extremely grateful that many Motorsport Competitors will be displaying their vehicles on the Seafront, and making themselves available to the talk about the sport and their machines. The Guernsey Motor Festival will also be welcoming many local stallholders, not just the GSPCA to the Seafront, who will be showcasing their fantastic products, and giving a real local festival feel to the Seafront. And don’t forget that there will be a fantastic culinary choice on the seafront with food stalls and various restaurants spilling out onto the seafront to provide a real “alfresco” vibe. There will also be a Live Action Arena on the North Beach Car Park. This will feature the following:- Motorcycle Twisty Sprint Car Auto Solo Motorsport Parade This is a free event for the people of Guernsey and our visitors. There will be free parking at the top of Le Val des Terres on Saturday for the Hillclimb and Motor Show, and free parking in St Peter Port on the Sunday at the following locations:- Salerie Corner Car Park North Beach East Arm Car Park Castle Emplacement Bottom of the Val des Terres We all look forward to your support and welcoming you to their festival. Paws For Support Pet Dog Show & Open Day
Paws for Support

Paws For Support is hosting its annual open day and pet dog show from 12pm-4pm at Dave Ferguson Hall in Beau Sejour. Free entry and open to all, you get the chance to meet the Paws For Support therapy dogs, learn about the charity, shop around the many stall holders, watch displays and take part in the fun pet dog show. There are 10 classes to enter with rosettes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd all judged by Dr Nicola Brink. Prizes kindly donated from Creature Comforts and Sarre’s Top Dog.

Thanks to the #GuernseyTogether spirit the 2020 Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday will be the ninth and takes place on Sunday 13th September. On the 13th September 2020 10am to 4pm the GSPCA will be organising a day to celebrate the animals in Guernsey and all the wonderful work that is done to care for them. Having had to cancel the original date on the 31st May due to the Coronavirus lockdown we are so happy to bring this amazing day. We are extremely grateful to all those that made last 8 years such great days and we are hoping this years will be bigger and better. There will be stalls and fun for all the family - all with an animal theme. Fancy dress to mascot 5-a-side football, children's games to lots of food, a fun dog show to an animal less animal show, arts and crafts to charity stalls, some of the GSPCA animals looking for homes, entertainment and so much more........ This years Giant Animal Mascot event is a 5-a-side football match and can be entered as an individual or enter in the team event. All proceeds for this years race will help animals in Guernsey at the GSPCA so you can help support a great local charity, whilst having a lot of fun. Just pop along to our stall on the Crown Pier between 11am and 4pm on the day for a free gift. Giant Animal Mascot 5-a-side football event Can your team take the trophy off the Plough Inn? Once again we will be holding a Giant Animal Mascot event but this year there are a big twist. This is open to mascots and individuals prepared to dress as an animal and play a fun football game with a rather over sized ball. We are asking businesses, pubs, individuals or anyone as a team of 5 or an individual and we can make extra teams on the day. Don't worry about what to wear we will provide the Giant Animal Mascot suit and have over 70 available. To join in the our giant animal 5-a-side football game in Guernsey we are asking you to raise funds for the Shelter, ideally a minimum of £22 per person or £100 for a team of 5. All the money raised will go towards helping animals in Guernsey. For businesses wanting to join in we will feature in our next newsletter, on our website and you can put a banner up on the day.
