The decision was taken last year that all future communications from the Association to its members would only be made by email. This will not only have a major saving in costs, but will allow much faster and efficient communications, and will allow the Association to become very effective in informing charities of urgent, or time sensitive information.

Local charities are reminded that applications for a share of the Christmas Lottery proceeds need to be made by the end of this month.
The 2008 Christmas Lottery was the most successful in its 30-year history, with the jackpot reaching £553,000. Every year the proceeds of the Christmas draw are given to charities to enable them to undertake projects. Last year 25 charities in Guernsey benefited from the 2007 Christmas Lottery when they received a share of the £145,000 raised. This was the largest sum ever given to local good causes. The amount raised from the 2008 Lottery is currently being calculated, but the Association is keen to thank everyone for continuing to show such great support for the traditional Christmas draw.
