Paws For Thought - Herm Island Charity Dog Walking Day Sunday 7th October
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)
With dogs permitted back on our beautiful beaches this autumn, give your four legged friend the joy of Herm with Herm Island’s charity dog walking day in aid of GSPCA.
Shell Beach kiosk will be serving ‘Herm-made’ soup and rolls (£4.50) and bacon butties & hot dogs (£3.30) from 9am-5pm with 50p per item donated to the GSPCA. 50p doggie treat bags also available with proceeds going to the charity. Additional donations can be made at Shell Beach Cafe and will be greatly appreciated.
The more dogs the merrier !
DON'T FORGET SOME WHITE HOUSE HOTEL ROOMS AND HERM ISLAND COTTAGES ARE DOG FRIENDLY - they will make an additional £20 donation for any hotel room or cottage booked, with a dog staying, the week before of after Sunday 7th October.
There is no specific start time and dogs and their owners can walk any route on the island – but please do visit Shell Beach cafe to make donations or enjoy some warming food and dog treats.
Dogs must be kept on leads around Rosaire, Harbour Village and Manor Village, but no leads required anywhere else on the island. However, please do keep an eye on your dogs and please do not allow them to chase any wildlife.
Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager said, “The GSPCA are hugely grateful to all the Herm Island team for putting this fantastic event together and look forward to seeing pictures of the dogs enjoying the wonderful island and the owners enjoying their soup and bacon butties.”
