Description Aims and Objectives

The Guernsey Arts Commission was set up as a result of a States of Guernsey decision in January 2008.  It is a company Limited by Guarantee held by the GAC Trust.

The Commission aims to provide a strong, identifiable voice for the arts in the community, raising public awareness, and promoting the value and importance of the arts.

The Commission can provide funds, raise funds, organise events, facilitate activities, and act as a catalyst.

Organisation and Management

The GAC is run by a board of Commissioners; each responsible for a particular area of activity.  Officers are employed to deliver the Commissions mandate.

Finance

Funding by the States of Guernsey, as well as private donations.
