Living StreetsMember Number: 259Description Aims and Objectives Living Streets, Guernsey (formerly STEPS) is a Guernsey organisation affiliated to Living Streets UK (formerly the Pedestrians Association). Living Streets, Guernsey, campaigns for better streets and public places for people on foot. The organisation liaises with States of Guernsey Departments with the aim of improving the walking environment in order to encourage more islanders to walk. Open meetings are held bi-monthly to highlight current transport research and to give islanders an opportunity to put forward their concerns and quiz key decision makers. The Living Streets manifesto goes much further than simply pedestrian issues – it seeks to influence urban planning to improve the environment for everyone, and especially to bring community life back into our streets. In recent years Living Streets has been in the forefront of developments for safe routes to schools.
Organisation and Management A committee of three officers (Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) plus five additional members.
Finance Subscriptions from members, donations and events.
