Alzheimer's Society - Bailiwick of Guernsey BranchMember Number: 250Description Aims and Objectives The Guernsey Branch of the national Alzheimer's Society (the leading care and research charity for people with dementia). The branch supplies quality information, education and support to people with dementia, and their carers. A drop-in centre is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 12 noon at the branch's centre in Rue des Monts, Delancey, St Sampson and a Helpline is a manned at the same times. The branch has recently set up a Befriending Scheme for carers. The society funds medical and scientific research, and campaigns for improved health and social services and greater understanding of dementia. The local branch also aims to raise more awareness about dementia in the community and the issues affecting carers.
