Alderney Amateur Boxing ClubMember Number: 241Description Aims and Objectives A club for boys and young men aged between 11 and 28. The number of members vary between twenty and thirty. The club aims to train young people in the sport of amateur boxing. This training requires a high degree of self control and self discipline. The physical fitness required requires abstention from alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Two hour training sessions are held twice a week, plus road-runs four or five times a year. Small groups of young boxers attend tournaments either in the Channel Islands or the UK, under the auspices of the Amateur Boxing Club.
Organisation and Management The club is run by a committee of seven or eight adults, including Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. The committee meet as often as needed, and audited accounts are presented at the AGM.
Finance Donations from the public, funds raised from jumble sales, and interest from a small bequest.
