The Art of Living FoundationMember Number: 240Description Aims and Objectives The Art of Living foundation is chartered as a non-profit, educational organisation. It is based in the United States with affiliates in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and Australia. It is accredited as an official Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in special consultative status with the United Nations. The Foundation offers practical methods and experimental processes for managing stress, improving overall health and bringing greater fulfilment to daily life. To date, this unique educational programme has been taught to over a million people, in more than ninety countries, spanning five continents. The cornerstone of the programme is a natural breathing technique that allows the individual to manage emotions, while releasing stress and infusing the system with energy. Wholeness is fostered on every level and the result is a transformation of a person's physical, emotional and mental state of well-being. The programme benefits the following areas:
Organisation and Management The committee manages the business of the Guernsey Group and comprises the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chairperson and elected members. Meetings have a minimum of three people and a maximum of nine people. Other members can be co-opted as required (e.g. people with special skills in co-ordinating charitable events, etc.)
Finance Participants who attend the course for the first time pay £120. There is a charge of £60 for the second workshop; and the third workshop is free of charge. A small donation is requested for the Thursday evening support group.
