Description Aims and Objectives

The Salvation Army is an international organisation. It is an integral part of the Christian Church and has a strong social conscience.

St. Peter Port has a Church and Community Centre at Clifton Hall which provides groups for the elderly, a luncheon club, parent and toddler groups, after-school clubs, and shildren's activities.  It also provides lunch on Christmas Day for the lonely.

St. Sampson's has a Community Centre in Nocq Road, which provides a charity shop and café, community based actisvities and a luncheon club.

L'Islet has a Church and Community Centre in La Route du Picquerel, which provides children and youth groups, activities for the elderly, a luncheon club, and parent and toddler clubs.

 

Organisation and Management

There are three centres in Guernsey, namely St. Peter Port, L’Islet and St. Sampsons.

 

Finance

Much of the local work is financed by its own members, but community and welfare work in the Island is also supported by  donations from the general public and funds raised in the charity shop and café.
