Arthritis CareMember Number: 080Description Aims and Objectives The Guernsey Branch of the only national charity dealing solely with the welfare and needs of arthritis sufferers, helping with information, advice and practical aid, home visits, monthly social meetings for the elderly and a self-help group for younger members. A quarterly newsletter is published by headquarters in London. Social meetings at St. Joseph’s Church Hall on the third Tuesday in the every month. Joint Action self-help group meets on the fourth Wednesday in every month at the Ron Short Centre.
Organisation and Management A committee of up to twelve members which receives help and advice from the National headquarters, organises monthly meetings at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, provides transport for members, a summer outing and Christmas dinner.
Finance Membership subscription, part of which is sent to headquarters to cover administration and cost of newsletter. Fund-raising and donations are all used for local sufferers of arthritis and rheumatism, for holidays, outings, dinners, home aids, etc.
