Description Aims and Objectives

An international organisation formed to create and foster a spirit of “generous consideration” among the peoples of the world through a study of the problems of international relationships; to promote the theory and practice of good citizenship and to take an active interest in the civic, social and moral welfare of the community.

Organisation and Management

The Guernsey club is part of Lions International which is the largest community service organisation in the world. There is a formal constitution that provides for the running of the club, election of officers etc., and the club is run by a Board of Directors.

Finance

Members meet all of their own expenses. The main annual fund-raising events are the Donkey Derby, Swimarathon, and Winter Wonderland, in addition to numerous smaller events.
