Multiple Sclerosis Society Bailiwick of Guernsey BranchMember Number: 011Description Aims and Objectives The branch was formed in 1976 and is one of about 300 in the British Isles. It works within the guidelines of the UK MS Society and has full control of its activities and finances. It assists all those in the Bailiwick affected by Multiple Sclerosis, by grants for equipment, information, exercise classes, and meetings. Medical problems are referred to the local Department of Health MS Nurse, financed by the Branch.
Organisation and Management The branch committee is made up of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Support Officer and several committee members. Nik van Leuven QC and Colin Fallaize MBE are its patrons, and Dr. Gillian Turner is its Medical Liaison Officer.
Finance Fund raising arises from an annual flag day, various fund raising events, collecting boxes, and donations from local businesses and individuals.
