St. John Care in the Community Library ServiceMember Number: 001Description, Aims and Objectives A branch affiliated to, but independent of, the U.K. Joint Committee of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem and the British Red Cross Society, manned by a group of voluntary workers formed to provide, and distribute, normal and large print books to hospitals (except the Princess Elizabeth Hospital), nursing and residential homes, and the house-bound of Guernsey.
Organisation and Management A Committee of eight members. Distribution of books is from the library in the grounds of the St. John Ambulance Station. Drivers/Librarians provide a regular service to the hospitals, nursing and residential homes and the housebound.
