Charities
reminded to
apply for lottery funds Charities in Guernsey are reminded that applications for a share of the Christmas Lottery proceeds need to be completed by the end of the month. The Association of Guernsey Charities, which handles the application process, is keen to hear from organisations with projects both large and small, whether or not they have previously applied. The 2009 Christmas Lottery broke all previous records for ticket sales, and the first prize eventually soared to an amazing £651,000. Although the amount of money to be given to charities is not yet known, it is hoped that this will also be more than in previous years. In Guernsey, money from the Christmas Lottery can be given to any charity which is a member of the Association of Guernsey Charities for a project within the island. Charities need to complete an application form, and return it to the Association by Monday 1st February 2010. Application forms and further information are available by clicking here.
