Tickets for 2007 Christmas Lottery on
sale
(05 November 2007)
Tickets are now on sale for the 2007
Channel Island Christmas Lottery.
Deputy Jack Honeybill of the Culture
and Leisure Department’s Lottery Advisory Panel which oversees the draw
in Guernsey said “I hope that the sales will start with a bang because
we are hoping for a bigger and better result than in 2006 which was
itself a record.”
He added that “the profits from this
draw are channelled through the Association of Guernsey Charities which
distributes these to good causes in the island in the New Year.”
Tickets still cost one pound each and
will be widely available throughout the island. There are two chances to
win. The first is by means of the normal scratch panel which reveals
whether the ticket is a winner. The remaining part of the ticket
contains a number which should be retained for the draw which is to take
place during the evening of Tuesday, 18 December.
The first prize guarantees a minimum
£250,000 which will rise according to the number of tickets sold.
Deputy Honeybill said that he hoped
that as many people as possible will play the lottery this year because
it will benefit so many people in the island.
