Charities encouraged to
apply for money from the Channel Island Lottery
(18 January 2007)
The Association of Guernsey Charities
would like to remind all members that applications for a share of the
Christmas Lottery proceeds need to be made by the end of next month.
Charitable organisations, which must be
a member of the Association of Guernsey Charities in order to receive
money from the lottery, can apply for a grant towards any project that
they are undertaking in Guernsey during 2007.
Any charity wishing to apply for a
share of the funds will need to complete a Grant Application Form and
return this to the Association with any supporting documents, and a full
set of their annual accounts.

successful ever, with the jackpot reaching £447,500. Each year, the
proceeds from the Christmas Lottery are split between Jersey and
Guernsey, and distributed to local charities. The money has to be used
for projects within the island, and the Association of Guernsey
Charities is always keen to support a wide variety of local good causes.
There are currently 235 local
organisations that are members the Association of Guernsey Charities and
information about applying for a share of the lottery funds was sent to
all members in November. If any charity would like further details they
can contact the Association by email at:
