How to Join

Membership of The Association of Guernsey Charities is open to any organisation, based in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, that has charitable aims and objects.

There is no official register for charities in Guernsey, and the Association does not undertake any check or audit of organisations.

If you are involved with a local charity, and would like to join, you will need to print a copy of the application form (link on the right of this page).  Applications cannot be completed online, as we require the application to be signed by a senior member of the organisation.

It is important to complete each section on the application form, as these details are used to produce information about your organisation for publication on this website.

In order for membership to be considered, you will also need to enclose the following with your application:

  • A copy of your governing document (e.g. constitution, trust document, etc.)

  • A copy of the letter from the Administrator of Income Tax, confirming that you have been "Approved for Charitable Exemption from States of Guernsey Income Tax"

  • A copy of your latest Balance Sheet AND Income and Expenditure Account from the last financial year (preferably audited).  If your organisation is within the first year of operation, then you should send proof that you have a bank account for your organisation.

  • A cheque for the Association of Guernsey Charities joining fee (currently £10).

This should be sent to The Secretary at the address given on the form.
