Alderney Wildlife Trust (AWT) is the only wildlife trust in the Channel Islands and the only organisation on Alderney dedicated to protection of the natural environment.

The over-arching aim is the conservation of Alderney's biodiversity, encouraging a sustainable Alderney where people and biodiversity co-exist and promoting conservation and Alderney's many terrestrial and marine habitats, place or scientific interest, its amenity value and natural beauty.

Organisation and Management

The AWT has one paid member of staff, the Trust Manager, who reports to the Board of Directors appointed by the membership.

Activities are undertaken by voluntary graduate work placements and resident volunteers.

The activities are wide ranging and varied.  These include reserve and foot path management, management of the Alderney Community Woodland and of the island's Ramsar Site, ecological surveys, educational activities (including live and watch)
