Description Aims and Objectives

A trust set up by interested parties either representing other groups/organisations or as individuals, to try to safeguard the future use of the house on Lihou Island, primarily for educational purposes for the people of Guernsey.

The Trust aims to provide youth hostel style facilities at Lihou House for educational, recreational, or leisure purposes; available to all, but primarily for educational groups.

Organisation and Management

There are three Trustees, a Management Committee, and a Steering Group made up of other interested parties and/or individuals.

Finance from donations, and the hiring out of the centre using a 'Robin Hood' scale of charging, whereby school and youth groups pay the least and private and corporate groups pay the most to subsidise the school and youth groups.

The Trust employs one full time member of staff and a student part time during the university holidays to assist in the day to day running of then house.
